Dorothy L. Skotnicky, age 78, of Canton, passed away in Summits Trace Nursing Home on Tues, March 9, 2010. She was born in Portsmouth, Oh on Sept. 8, 1931 to the late John and Zelma Harris and was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Dorothy retired form Aultman Hospital in 1988 where she worked for 21 years in Admitting. She was active in the Eagles Aerie 141, and enjoyed playing Yahtzee, Bingo, puzzles and cards. Dorothy was also a member of West Minster Presbyterian Church. Dorothy will be missed as a loving wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt and friend to so many. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Stacy Skotnicky in 1980; brothers, Ray and Jay Harris; son-in-law, Tom Maston. Survivors include her loving husband, Donald Skotnicky of the home and to whom she was married 58 years; three sons, Ray (Cheryl) of Canton, Jim (Betsy) of Canton, Twp, Donald Jr. (Terry) of North Canton; daughter, Florence Maston of Canton; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; four brothers, Church, Jack (Jean), Jeff, and Jerry; two sisters, Sandy (Ken) Fowler and Jenny Patt (Lee) Gibbons. There are several nieces and nephews also surviving. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010 in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with Rev. William Pawson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park Cemetery.
